ANNVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore goalkeeper
Brooke Moskey put together a strong performance between the pipes on Tuesday evening. However, the offensive struggles continued as Eastern Women's Soccer played Lebanon Valley to a 0-0 draw at Herbert Field. The Dutchmen outshot the Eagles 15-5 in the contest, but Moskey stood tall in her third career shutout. Addtionally, the scoreless tie broke a seven-match losing streak to the Dutchmen dating back to 2012.Â
Despite a barrage of shots in the first 45 minutes, Moskey made four saves, including one right before the halftime break. The Kennett Square native faced another five shots in the first 13 minutes of the second half, but made two more saves to keep the Dutchmen off the scoreboard.
Eastern had an early chance off the right foot of
Madelyn Mullen, but the shot was corralled by LVC goalkeeper Jocelyn Umana.
Leah Mowery recorded another shot in the 42rd minute that was saved by Umana, and a
Brynn Rathsam shot sailed high less just over a minute later.
The Eagles did not have another offensive chance until late in the second half. Sophomore defender
Nicole Eveland found some free space on the rfght side of the box, but her shot was saved by Umana.
Sydney Koncsol had the final shot for Eastern with 1:07 to play, but it too sailed high.
After a four-match road trip, Eastern (1-3-1) finally returns to St. Davids for a Saturday afternoon showdown with MAC Freedom foe Delaware Valley. The contest is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
