Men's Tennis Records Third Win at Penn State Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. - In non-conference action on Thursday evening, Eastern Men's Tennis recorded its third win of the season with an 8-1 victory over Penn State Brandywine at the Ethel Sergeant Clark Tennis Courts. The Eagles were victorious in all three doubles matches and all but one singles match. 

After dropping the first set at No. 1 singles, Jacob DeVage bounced back with wins in the final two sets. The junior won 6-4 in set two, before taking the third set tiebreaker 10-8. Jeffrey Day won his sixth match at No. 3 singles with a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Jackson Schultz. William Livezey came away with a hard fought 6-3, 6-4 triumph at No. 4 singles, while Jacob Craig lost just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles. Shane Witzer took a competitive first set at No. 6 singles, 7-5, before winning the second set 6-0. 

In doubles play, DeVage and Ryan Kratz won at No. 1 doubles 8-4, Day and Livezey earned an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, and the team of Craig and Ethan Goonewardene came away with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Eastern will be back in action at Stevenson for another MAC Commonwealth match. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 am.
