IMMACULATA, Pa. - Eastern Women's Tennis dropped its first match of the season on Thursday evening in a 9-0 loss to a solid Immaculata squad. The Eagles battled, but were unable to win a single set in the defeat. 

GraceHope Stevens competed well against a strong No. 1 player in Immaculata's Annamarie Degnan, but fell 6-2, 6-3. First-year player Rhyan Metzger dropped a competitive 6-3, 6-3 match at No. 3 singles. Brittany Pancoast kept it close in the first set at No. 6 singles, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-1.

"It was a tough result today against a strong team," Eastern Head Coach Harrison Bitzberger said. "We will regroup and be ready for the start of the conference season this weekend."

Eastern travels to Grantham on Saturday to open up MAC Commonwealth play against Messiah. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
