The Eagles clinched their spot in the finals after defeating York 3-2 back on Nov. 30. The Eagles won the first two maps, but the Spartans fought back to win the next two, forcing a winner-take-all fifth match. Eastern emerged victorious.
The Eagles started strong on Oasis, taking control of the map early and never looking back. They secured a convincing 2-0 victory to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The second map, King's Row, was a much closer affair. The teams traded blows back and forth, but the Eagles managed to pull ahead to win 1-0.
However, the Spartans refused to go down without a fight. They dominated the third map, New Junk City, winning a deceptively close 3-0. The fourth map, Colosseo, was another nail-biter. The teams were tied at 2-2 heading into the final round, but the Spartans were able to pull off a stunning victory to tie the series at 2-2.
The final map, Circuit Royale, was a do-or-die situation for both teams. The Eagles started strong, but the Spartans fought back to make it a close game. In the end, the Eagles were able to hold on for the win, taking the map 3-2 and the series 3-2.
"This was a hard-fought victory for the Eagles," Franklin said. "They showed great resilience and determination throughout the series. They will look to build on this momentum as they continue their season."
