ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Volleyball will host York College of Pennsylvania in a MAC Commonwealth Semifinal match at 7 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 8. The top-seeded Eagles went unbeaten in the league this year and are riding a 12-match winning streak.
Eastern (25-3) won the first meeting of the year in three sets and has not lost to York since 1999.
The Eagles served 14 aces and limited the Spartans to a negative hitting percentage.
Hannah Pringle had ten kills and
Logan Martin added nine.
Bridgette Kelly had six kills, four aces and four blocks, and
Elle Jiron-Bujanda finished with 31 assists, five aces, and ten digs. Gianna Krinock led York with eight kills.
Through the season, the Eagles have found success with a balanced attack. Pringle has a team-high 326 kills, and Martin and Kelly are both over two kills per set. Martin is hitting .394 on the year. Jiron-Bujanda leads the league with 10 assists per set, and
Grace Casagrande is atop the conference with 5.43 digs per set.
York (17-11) locked up a post-season bid with a three-set win over Widener on Oct. 24. Krinock and Morgan Nolte both had a dozen kills as the Spartans hit .298 as a team. Krinock leads York with 3.11 kills per set and Note is hitting .348. Abby Diehl is third in the league with 8.04 assists per set.
Because it is a MAC Championship Event, admission will be charged. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, and $2 for students (with ID) and children. Children under six are free.
Eastern University Student Development will cover the cost for any Eastern student with Valid Ecard to attend.
The winner of Wednesday's match will host the winner of the other semifinal between the second-seeded Stevenson University Mustangs and the third-seeded Messiah University Falcons on Saturday.
