GALLOWAY, N.J.– In a rare Saturday evening affair, Eastern University Field Hockey dropped a 5-0 decision at Stockton University.
Despite having fewer chances and less possession, the Eagles stayed within striking until the host Ospreys scored on a penalty corner late in the third quarter to open a 3-0 lead. Stockton added two goals in the fourth quarter for the final margin. Four of Stockton's five goals came on penalty corners.
"Regardless of the scoreboard, I couldn't be more proud of our effort tonight," Head Coach
Abbey Kemble said after the match. From allowing two goals in the first quarter and then holding them off until late in the third is a true testament to the work our team is putting in defensively. We are ready to put in the work on Monday to create more offensive opportunities."
The Eagles are at Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday night.
