GRANTHAM, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse closed out the 2022 season with a 20-2 loss at Messiah University.
Hailey Ferry and
Caitlyn Quizon scored scored Eastern's two goals.
The Falcons will be the second seed in the upcoming MAC Commonwealth tournament, and their offense found its range early with goals on the first three possessions of the game. The Falcons enjoyed a huge edge in early possession on the way to an 8-0 lead after a quarter.
The Falcons scored the first goal of the second quarter before Ferry put away a free-position shot for her team-best 30th tally of the season.
The Eagles did not score again until Quizon closed out the third quarter with a goal. Holding possession and making the Eastern team chase, the Falcons scored on four of their six shots in the third and on both their attempts in the fourth.
Though Falcons had the advantage early, the Eagles won exactly half of the 24 draws in the game. Cecilia Wilson led the Eastern draw control unit with seven. She finishes her rookie campaign with a team-best 86.
