YORK, Pa.– Eastern University Men's Tennis dropped a tough 7-2 decision in MAC Commonwealth play at York College.
Bryan Levi and
Ryan Kratz won singles matches for the Eagles.
The day got off to a tough start as the Spartans swept the three doubles matches. Levi and
Darren Lopez played point-for-point with their opponents at the top doubles spot but fell 8-6.
Nick Wool and
Cole Patti played to a tight 8-5 loss. The close losses, however, were still losses, and the Eagles needed to find a way to win five of six singles matches to claim the win.
Kratz and Levi earned identical 6-3, 6-4 victories at the first and sixth singles spots, but Patti dropped a 6-1, 7-5 decision at the second spot, and Wool fell in incredibly close 6-7, 7-5, 10-7 match at the third spot.
The Eagles (4-5, 2-4) wrap up their season with a home match against Messiah next Saturday.
