Kayla Patitucci won the lone Eastern point with an 8-7 win at first doubles.
Eastern's top doubles duo combined to force a tiebreaker and emerged with a 7-5 victory to keep the Eagles within a point after the doubles finished. The Mustangs clinched the match with the decisive wins through the first matches off the courts in singles.
Trinity Gruber dropped a marathon 6-3, 6-3 decision at third singles. With both players hitting consistent ground strokes and covering the court, the match extended nearly a half hour after the rest of the matches were over.
The Eagles return to MAC Commonwealth action on Tuesday at Albright.
