Women's Soccer Falls to LBC in Season Finale

LANCASTER, Pa. - In its final match of the season on Saturday afternoon, Eastern Women's Soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to Lancaster Bible. The Eagles held a 1-0 lead early in the second half, but goals in the 65th and 73rd minutes by the Chargers proved to be Eastern's undoing.

The Eagles dominated most of the possession and outshot the Chargers by a 17-7 margin, which included an 8-4 edge in shots on target. However, the Eagles would not break the scoreless tie until the 53rd minute.

After a turnover at midfield, Jessica Burg found Sydney Koncsol on the left side of the field. The senior forward eventually broke away from her defender and uncorked a shot that found twine in the upper portion of the net, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

However, Eastern's lead would not last for long. LBC's Alison Cranga tied the contest in the 65th minute, before Kendal Ream broke the draw eight minutes to give the Chargers a lead they would not relinquish. The Eagles would record four more shots in the final 17 minutes, but could not find the equalizer.

Koncsol led the Eagles with seven shots, two of which were on frame, while Lindsay Kline finished with three. Madelyn Mullen and Kayla Bardonner each finished with two chances, while Brooke Moskey made two saves in goal.

With that, Eastern's 2022 season has come to an end.
