Jenna Lapp won her match at second singles, but the short-handed Eastern University Women's Tennis Team dropped an 8-1 decision at Messiah.
Down two middle of the order players, the Eagles had to forfeit the fifth and sixth singles spots as well as third doubles, so they trailed 3-0 before the match started. The Falcons (3-6, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth) won both the contested doubles matches to secure the win.
Lapp earned a 6-4, 6-4 win with consistent play from the baseline. She delivered timely lobs and was able to hit passing shots efficiently.
As the seventh seed int he MAC Commonwealth Tournament, the Eagles will play at LVC on May 4.
