HOBOKEN, N.J.– Eastern University dropped a 3-0 decision in a non-league contest at Steven s Institute of Technology. The host Ducks (8-2) scored twice in the second quarter and added a goal in the fourth quarter for the final margin.
Abby Agapito made 12 stops in goal.
The two sides played through a scoreless first period. The Ducks grabbed what proved to be the game-winner in the 20th minute on a steal deep in Eastern territory. The game stayed in the midfield for much of the remainder of the half, but the hosts picked up their fourth penalty corner of the half with less than a minute to play. Agapito made a save on the initial shot, but Brynn Froehlich followed her own shot and doubled the Stevens' lead.
Eastern earned three penalty corners in the third and matched the hosts in shots, possession, and field position, but the Eagles were unable to halve the deficit. Stevens effectively sealed the result with a nicely-worked goal in the 53rd minute.
