Esports Competes in 24-Hour Marathon for CHoP

ST.DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Esports raised over $2000 to support The Children's Miracle Network of Hospitals by competing in a 24-hour gaming marathon. The Extra Life marathons provide a way for gamers to support children and families at a network of hospitals.

Eastern Esports, a first-year program under the direction of Stephen Haberman, had 13 players involved in the gaming marathon which had over 200 viewers on the program's Twitch site. The competitors did battle  over a wide variety of games over multiple platforms from 8 am on Saturday Nov. 14th through to the following Sunday morning.

Donations raised by the squad will go directly to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Haberman, an avid gamer and pinball player, brought his involvement with the Extra Life charity to the Eastern program, and his team jumped in to support the cause.

Those who donated were able to win prizes provided by sponsorships from a variety of sponsors. Donations are still being accepted here, and the marathon is visible in archived form on the program's Twitch page.
