ABINGTON, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Tennis picked up a 6-3 win at Penn State Abington to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Shade Obadina and
Allison Ryan picked up a 9-8 win at second doubles that propelled the Eagles to the win.
How It Happened:
After
Emma Paugh and
Lauren Good won easily at the top doubles spot and the host Lions picked up an 8-2 win at second doubles, the critical third doubles point hung in the balance. Ryan and Obadina were twice within a point of losing the match. They trailed 7-6 but the duo fought back to force a tiebreaker. They claimed a 7-4 win in the tiebreker for the 2-1 lead heading to singles.
Paugh and Good claimed efficient wins at the top two singles spots and
Emily Stevens secured the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win at no. 4 singles. Ryan picked up her second win of the day with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 win at the fifth doubles spot.

"Emma, Lauren, and Alli were all double-winners today. The key to the match was the comeback at third doubles."
