ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Playing without two top players, Eastern University Men's Tennis dropped a 9-0 decision to the visiting Manhattanville College Valiants to close the regular season. It was the final match for
Karl Finkbeiner and
Ryan Hamilton who will be graduating in two weeks.
Finkbeiner and Hamilton paired together at the top doubles spot in the closest match of the day. They fell in a tiebreaker. Finkbeiner, who finished his degree in three years, fell in three sets playing at the third singles spot. He was moved up from his normal fourth singles spot with
Nick Humes away for military training. Hamilton also moved upa spot. He fell in straight sets at the top singles spot.
Nick Wool missed the final two matches of the season with an injury.
Coach Spangler Says:
"Ryan and Karl played some tough tennis today. Without Nick Humes and Nick Wool, the strength of the team, which is our depth, was not really on display today. Manhattanville is a good team and it would have been tough to get them at full strength, but it was really going to be tough down those two."
