Softball Road Trip Ends at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa.– Eastern University Softball played a home game on the road for the final time this afternoon with a pair of games at No. 10 Moravian College.The Eagles dropped a pair of games to the host Greyhounds (28-6).

How it Happened:
The Eagles put runners on in five of the seven innings of the opener, but the Greyhounds kept the offensive pressure on throughout the game. The hosts had nine hits and five runs through the first six innings before breaking things open with a seven-run seventh for the final 12-0 score.

Moravian jumped to an early lead in the second game. After Lexi Evelyn retired the side in order in the first, The Greyhounds scored six runs on six hits and two errors in the top of the second.

The Eagles scratched out a run after a one-out single from Jess Snader in the bottom of the third. Emily Loomis drove in the run with a ground out. That run would not be enough as Moravian built a 9-1 lead with a run in the top of the fourth. When the Eagles could not create another run in the fourth or fifth, the game ended, 9-1.

Up Next;
Eastern (6-26) is slated to return to MAC Freedom action with a doubleheader against DeSales on Thursday. Those games will be on the newly renovated field in the middle of Eastern's campus. After 32 games away from home, the Eagles will play on the field they have watched being built through the semester.

The Eastern team will honor their three seniors, Sam Albertson, Taylor Crown, and Leah Lozzi at the doubleheader.
