LANGHORNE, Pa.– Eastern University Baseball scored the first two runs of the game but could not make the lead stand in a 9-5 non-league loss at Cairn University.
James Baker hit a two-run double in the second to put the Eagles up 2-0. The Highlanders struck for four in the bottom of the fourth and took advantage of two Eastern errors for five in the sixth inning.
The Eagles scratched out two unearned runs in the seventh and added another on a
Britton Lawrence single in the ninth, but the 9-2 lead was too big to overcome.
Shane Albertson pitched two scoreless innings in his first action since 2017.
The Eagles are back home against Wilkes University on Friday afternoon.
