Field Hockey Falls at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.– Eastern University Field Hockey dropped a 4-1 decision at DeSales in a critical MAC Freedom contest. The host Bulldogs (9-7, 3-1) scored a goal in each quarter to secure the win. Abigail Geisler scored the only goal of the match for the Eagles.

How It Happened:
The Bulldogs jumped to a lead in the sixth minute and doubled their edge in the 27th. DeSales had an 8-6 advantage in shots through the first half and a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.

DeSales went up 3-0 with two and a half minutes to play in the third period before Geisler tucked home her 13th of the year just before the end of the period. The Eagles had some early pressure in the fourth, but hte Bulldogs found their fourth with a little more than eight minutes to play for the final margin.

Caitlyn Quizon made eight saves in goal for the Eagles.

Up Next:
The Eagles (4-10, 1-3) travel to Misericordia for their final MAC Freedom regular season road match on Wednesday evening. The Eagles still control their own destiny in the hunt for a post-season spot, but they will likely need to win their final three league games to reach the MAC Freedom Tournament.
