ANNVILLE, Pa.– The Middle Atlantic Conferences Office today released Academic All-MAC Honors for the 2018 Men's and Women's Cross Country Season. The award is intended to recognize students who excel in the classroom and on the field. Eastern junior Rusty Batykefer earned a spot on the team. The list is chosen from all 17 Middle Atlantic Conference member institutions. To be considered, runners had to earn at least a 3.2 GPA in the Fall Semester. All 11 honored runners earned either First or Second-Team All-MAC Honors at the MAC Championships.

Batykefer is an Exercise Science Major who runs competitively for Eastern in both cross country and track and field. He carries a 3.989 GPA and put together a flawless 4.0 GPA this past semester. On the course, Batykefer ground through injuries to earn second team All-Conference honors. He finished 17th and helped the Eagles to a fourth place finish in the race.

This is his first appearance on the Academic All-MAC Team.  The complete list is below.
