Eastern Men's Cross Country returned to action Friday at the MAC Preview Cross Country Meet at Stevenson. The men had another strong finish, placing third for the second straight meet with a score of 106.
Eastern's top seven finishers all finished with one minute of one another. Robert Watson paced the Eagles, crossing the finish line in 28:43.9, while
Joshua Knox-Wagner finished in 28:58.5.
Matthew Schilling and
Levi Weir followed in quick succession at 29:00.6 and 29.02.5.
Malachi Wilson finished in 29:22.0,
Anthony Zamichieli crossed in 29.22.1, and
Kayden Hovermale rounded out the top seven with a time of 29:45.0. Head Coach
Samantha David was pleased with the team's pack mentality and how they ran together as a group.
"The men had a great race, practicing teamwork and showing solid energy with one another on the course, David said. "There were very few times where one of our guys was without a teammate near his side on the course.
"Overall I'm pleased with the performance at MAC previews," David continued."Finishing third on both sides showed us more of what we know our squads are capable of, and we're excited to keep surging forward this season. We'll keep working over these next few weeks and will be ready for Paul Short on October 2nd."
