MADISON, N.J. – In earning a spot in the MAC Freedom Tournament, Eastern University Women's Lacrosse made a big step forward in 2018. The Eagles post-season journey came to an end with a 19-5 loss at FDU-Florham in the MAC Freedom Semifinals.
Meghan Kosmides and
Liz Brennan each scored twice in the loss.
The Eagles fell behind early as the top-seeded devils won draw controls and forced turnovers with pressure. Kosmides put the Eagles on the board in 12th minute to cut the deficit to 6-1, but the Devils answered 17 seconds later. Kosmides scored again, but again the Devils answered.
FDU had a 32-14 edge in first-half shots and led 12-2 at the break.
Eastern scored the first two goals of the second half, but could get no closer as the Devils reeled off seven in a row before
Liz Brennan closed out the scoring with her 49 th goal of the year.
With one goal today,
Julie Haggan finished her career with 160 goals and 50 assists. She owns the program record with 221 draw controls in her career.
Liz Brennan scored 118 goal in her two years in St. Davids.
Sam Brennan had four caused turnovers and six ground balls in her final game as an Eagle. She holds the program's single-season record with 61 caused turnovers. She finishes the year with 73 ground balls.
Jazzlyn Sullivan, Alex Vincent, and
Alex Imperatore also played their final games for the Eagles today.
