LANDISVILLE, Pa.– Eastern University Men's Tennis won 3-of-6 singles matches, but the Eagles were never able to overcome losing 2-of-3 doubles matches in a 5-4 loss at Lancaster Bible in the team's final non-league match of the yar.
Ryan Hamilton and
Karl Finkbeiner controlled their doubles match with an 8-2 win, but the host Chargers (4-7) earned an 8-5 win at second singles and an 8-1 win in the third spot to grab the advantage heading to singles.
Finkbeiner and
Connor Mooney ground out three-set wins, and
Matt Cradduck won at fourth singles, but the Chargers earned a win at the top spot and at fifth and sixth singles to earn the win. Finkbeiner bonced back after dropping the first set with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 win at second singles. Mooney won his first set but was unable to win in two in a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win at third singles. Cradduck won 6-3, 7-5.
The Eagles will wrap up their season at Misericordia on Saturday.
