FORT PIERCE, Fla.– The bats went quiet for Eastern University Baseball in a 9-1 loss to Houghton College in their third day of games in Florida.
The Eagles continued to use multiple pitchers through spring break
Colyn Hoffer ran into trouble in the third inning and took the loss.
The Eagles only scratched out four hits in the game. Two of those helped produce the team's only run on a
Freddy Yahn ground ball in the ninth inning.
"It was clearly disappointing to have the hitters struggle so much today," Head Coach
Jed Morris said after the game. "Beyond a couple great catches in the outfield, we didn't compete to the best of our ability."
The Eagles (2-2) will wrap up their spring trip tomorrow with a game against Hilbert College.
