Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Hoops Falls at Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J.– The night did not start well for Eastern University Men's Basketball, and it got worse in a 95-56 loss at Rowan. The Eagles trailed 22-14 when senior forward Victor Peña left the game with injury midway through the first half. After being down 13 points at halftime, Eastern made only 8-of-28 shots form the floor in the second half.

Austin Duncan carried the offensive load in the first half. The senior guard had all 15 of his points before the intermission. He was 6-of-10 from the floor with three 3-pointers. The rest of the team was only 6-of-24. Darius Washington was the only other Eastern player with multiple field goals and the team did not attempt a free throw in the first half. Eastern trailed 40-27 at the break.

The Eagles found their way to the foul line after the intermission. Even that did not make much of a dent as they hit only 12-of-25 and the Profs buried ten 3-pointers. Rowan (7-3) put five players in double-figures and had nine different players hit a 3-pointer. They finished 17-of-40 from behind the arc. The Eagles, meanwhile, were only 4-of-15.

William Blet scored seven points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench. Rowan became the first team this year to out-rebound the Eagles.

Eastern (6-3) will return to action at the Shenendoah Tournament with a game against Southern Virginia on Dec. 28.
