ST. DAIVDS, Pa.– Eastern University Field Hockey fell to the No. 4 Lions from the College of New Jersey in a non-league match at Eastern. The Lions scored four times int he first half and added another three in a five-minute stretch in the second half for a 7-0 final.
How it Happened:
The Lions opened the scoring on a penalty stroke in the fourth minute and doubled the lead on a penalty corner in the ninth.

Marley Redfield made a series of saves and got some help from
Alli Dickinson with a defensive save to keep the match at 2-0 for a while, but the Lions scored a third in the 19th minute and added another in the 25th.
Redfield had 14 of her 15 saves in the first half. Eastern had a 5-4 edge in penalty corners in the match.
Coach Azzarano says:
"We played a very good team today. We saw some great passing patterns around the field and greater movement of the ball. We had some strong offensive runs, but to find success against really good teams, we need to execute on every opportunity."
"We are still focusing on clean and steady defense to better protect our house. We will continue to work on off-ball movement to enhance our attacking opportunities."
