DOYLESTOWN, Pa.– Eastern University Volleyball served 11 aces and hit .377 in a decisive three-set win at Delaware Valley University.
Michelle Paulsen finished with a match-high 13 kills.
How It Happened:
Morgan Kline served five first-set aces to lead the Eagles (18-3, 4-1 MAC Freedom) to a 25-10 win in the opening set.
Eastern led 11-1 and 19-4 in the second set before the Aggies closed the gap a little late with three points on serve late in the set. Eastern closed out the set on a Paulsen kill for a 25-12 win.
With a 7-2 run to start the third set, the Eagles remained aggressive in serving and were able to keep points alive out of system with solid swings that put pressure on the Aggie defense. Six different Eagles recorded kills in the final set.
Caroline Shelby closed out the match with a kill on an out-of-system set from
Cecilia Bauer. Bauer led the Eastern defense with 11 digs.
Sarah Roberts had seven kills on 13 swings. Paulsen hit .667 in the match.

"The players did a nice job of staying focused on the things we needed to do to get better and secured another conference win. Michelle and Sarah mixed up their sets and were both very efficient tonight."

The Eagles face Manhattanville next Tuesday before heading to Juniata for a big weekend invitational. Eastern will play three teams in the National Rankings in the Wid Guisler Invitational.
