ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Basketball used a 21-1 run to build a 19-point lead and held off a late charge from the visiting Penn State Brandywine Lions to earn a 56-53 home win.

The Eagles kept the run going as

Brandywine (4-3) found their offensive stride in the closing minutes of the third period. The Lions used an 18-2 run to tie the game at 41-41 with seven minutes to play in the game.
Taylor Azer then sparked a 9-0 Eastern run with a beautiful bounce pass to a cutting
Regie Robinson who finished at the rim. Price followed up that basket with the next seven points of the game. The senior guard hit a three from the corner on a pass from Riiff, and then finished a pair of layups. Robinson set up the first of those two baskets. She had five assists to go with her nine points, six steals, two blocks, and 15 rebounds.
The Lions scored eight of the next nine points to close the gap to 51-49, but Price found Riiff for a 3-pointer and finished another Robinson pass to put Eastern up seven with two minutes left.
"We talked about composure and getting defensive stops," Head Coach
Eric Houston said after the game when asked how he responded to the Brandywine run. "Taylor came up big on offense in the fourth quarter and we stepped up our defense. This was a good way to go into our Christmas break."
Riiff made another three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points in the game. Price, who scored her 1000th career point in the team's last game against Kean, shot 50 percent from the floor. Nikki Velez led the Lions with a game-high 18 points.
