EWING, N.J.– Eastern University Field Hockey dropped a 5-2 decision at The College of New Jersey in the regular season finale for both teams. Shannon Jugler and Gina Miller scored goals for Eastern.

The Lions (13-3) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals in the 21st and and 25th minutes before Jugler deflected in her third of the year off a dirve into the circle by Macey Talhelm. TCNJ grabbed one more goal to lead 3-1 at halftime. Nicole Berger made 15 first-half stops in goal.

Miller scored on a penalty stroke to close the deficit to 3-2. The senior midfielder finishes her career with 22 goals and 22 assists.

The Lions added tallies in the 55th and 65th minutes to pull away late.

"We are proud of the determination and fight this team rallied with today,"  Head Coach Camrin Azzarano said about her team's effort. "TCNJ is an opponent we have played for years. We respect their level of play. Today we came to the field to produce the best hockey we could. We scored twice, earned ten penalty corners, and we had an impressive 22 saves against a top-ten opponent. I feel like our young team is set up well for the future."

Miller and Berger were selected to play in the Victory Sports Tours/ NFHCA Division III Senior Game on November 18th.
