Box Score 2 LANCASTER, Pa - Eastern University women's volleyball completed its sweep of the F&M Scramble defeating Salisbury University in four sets and then sweeping Ithaca College.
The Eagles (10-0) defeated Salisbury University (7-5) 3-1, winning the final three sets after dropping the first.
Rylie Haas totaled a team-high 31 digs giving her 2,020 for her career and breaking the school record. As a team, Eastern posted a hitting percentage of .293 in the match while holding the Sea Gulls to a percentage of .118.
After falling in the first set 25-22, Eastern rallied back to capture the next three. The Eagles won by scores of 26-24, 25-12, and 25-21.
Stephanie Elechko and
Alicia Weigel were critical in the victory totaling 24 and 22 kills respectively. Elechko posted a team-high .423 hitting percentage while Weigel totaled a percentage of .275.
In the second match of the day, the Eagles swept Ithaca College (10-3) winning by scores of 29-27, 25-18, and 25-16. Weigel posted 15 kills to lead the Eastern attack while
Morgan Kline recorded a team-high 13 digs.
The Eagles defense didn't allow Ithaca to post a hitting percentage over .100 and held them to negative hitting percentages in both the second and third set. Kline was crucial, recording three blocks two of which were solo.
Eastern will travel to Misericordia on September 20th for a 7 p.m. match.
