Eastern Athletics Announces New Fitness Center

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—Eastern University Athletics released the plans for a new fitness center on Wednesday as part of phase one of the campus master plan.

The new two-story fitness center will replace the existing recreational gym and will provide more space for student-athletes and the student body as a whole for personal fitness and athletic training.

The expansion enlarges the fitness center from 1,300 square feet to 8,200 square feet. The lower level features a welcome desk, weight racks, free weights, machines and a large turf area for sport specific exercises and a batting cage. The upstairs is primarily a cardio area with treadmills, stationary bikes, stair machines and rowing machines.

Construction on the project is expected to begin at the end of August.
