Women's Soccer Scorched By Red Devils

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—Eastern University Women's Soccer dropped its home opener to the Dickinson College Red Devils 4-0 on Saturday.

The Devils outshot the Eagles 23-5 and on shots on goal, the margin was 15-2. Eagles' sophomore Jules Leco made her second career start on Saturday and stopped the majority of the Devils' attempts, recording 10 saves. Eastern midfielder Lydia Peachey recorded a team save when she bodied a ball from the back post on a Dickinson set piece.

Days after scoring six goals against Rosemont, the Eagles ran into a much tougher defensive backline that prohibited the Eagles from creating many scoring opportunities.

The Eagles had a good chance in the 28th minute, down 1-0, when forward Emily Cole fired a shot at Dickinson keeper Amanda Masterson. Masterson deflected the shot towards forward Emily Roquemore who took another shot but had it saved as well.

The Red Devils scored twice in the first half on balls crossed into the box and then scored on a corner kick and penalty kick in the second half.

The Red Devils improved to 4-0 with the win while Eastern dropped to 1-2. The Eagles play at Cabrini College on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
