Rowan (10-5)
grabbed a quick lead with three goals in the first two minutes and built
that lead to ten with 11 minutes remaining in the first period. The
Profs scored twice more to lead 12-0 at the break.
Eastern
managed just one shot in the fifth minute and did not have another shot
until the 47th minute of the game. Rowan (10-5) dominated possession in
the second half to claim the game.
Approaching their ultimate
game this year, the Eagles (1-14) had shown signs of improvement in a
variety of different areas. Rowan, however, had too much of the ball and
did not give the Eastern attack any time or space. Rowan had a 12-4
edge in draw controls for the game.
Today's game was the final collegiate game for seniors Julia Furniss, Lindsey Corbitt, and Priscilla Peters.
This is the first year since 1998 that Eastern University Women's Lacrosse has not qualified for post-season play.
