PURCHASE, N.Y.--After Eastern Women's Soccer and Men's Soccer tied the Manhattanville Valiants in the past 24 hours, Eastern Volleyball left no doubts about the outcome of their match Wednesday night.
The No. 12 Eagles cruised past the Valiants 25-5, 25-10, 25-11 to improve to 22-2 this season and 5-0 in the Freedom Conference.
Eastern hit a blazing .453 for the match (41 kills, seven errors, 75 attacks). Kearby Benak hit a team best nine kills. Lauren Sproles, Stephanie Elechko and Katrina Pisch added six kills. Eastern held Manhattanville to a -.082 hitting percentage.
In the first set, Eastern led 18-5 and scored seven points in a row to close out the set.
The five points allowed are the fewest the Eagles have allowed all season.
The Valiants were ranked No. 5 nationally in the country in aces per set with 3.25 aces/set. The Eagles held the Valiants to zero aces on Wednesday.
Eastern leaves for Texas early Thursday morning. They will play a four-game tournament at Trinity University on Friday and Saturday. Trinity is ranked No. 21 in the country.
