BALTIMORE, Md.--Eastern Men's Basketball kicked off the new year at Johns Hopkins University's 22nd annual Blue Jay Invitational Tournament.
The Eastern Eagles dropped the game against the hosting Blue Jays 71-55 Wednesday evening and fell to 2-10 this season. Johns Hopkins improved to 6-5.
Eastern's Anthony Parenti scored a game-high 15 points. Parenti, a sophomore, leads the Eagles with 11.9 points per game. Forward Jimmie Willis added eight points.
The Blue Jays' Aleksandar Nikolic scored a team-high 14 points in 17 minutes played off the bench.
Eastern shot 20-for-66 (30.3 percent) from the floor, but kept their turnovers down to 10, well below their season average (16.9).
The Eagles face the Susquehanna Crusaders in the consolation match at 5 p.m. Thursday.
