PURCHASE, N.Y.--Eastern Men's Lacrosse defeated the Manhattanville College Valiants 16-5 on the road on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles improved to 9-4 on the season and 3-0 in the Freedom Conference while the Valiants dropped to 2-11 and 0-3 in the conference.
Eleven different Eagles scored in the win; Matt Wagner led the Eagles with four goals. Zac Ivy and Eric Waibel scored twice. Will Johnson, Bill Schwartz, Matt Soldano, Brian Andersen, Brandon Stouber, Ron Johnson, Dan Hofstetter and Shawn Farmer each scored for the Eagles. For Stouber and Farmer, their goals were their first of the season.
The Eagles jumped to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter, gave up a goal to start the second quarter, but pounded the Valiants with seven more goals that quarter.
With some breathing room to work with, Eastern took the opportunity to play all four of their goalies: Aaron Benz, Pat Groschan, Dave Hoger and Nick DiPiano.
Eastern out-shot Manhattanville 49-17 and won the groundball battle 49-22.
Eastern rounds out the regular season with two Freedom Conference games. The Eagles host FDU-Florham at 4 pm on Wednesday and Misericordia at noon on Saturday.
