ST. DAVIDS, Pa.--Eagles' Grant Ferguson and Chris Farrar combined for nine goals as Eastern Men's Lacrosse went on to defeat DeSales University 14-4 on Saturday afternoon.

Farrar put Eastern on the board first with a goal at 13:06 in the first quarter. Farrar scored three of his four goals in that first quarter. Ferguson finished with five goals, recording one in the first, one in the third, and three in the fourth. Farrar added three assists and Ferguson added two, for an all-around offensive output of 14 points by the pair.

Four other Eagles scored in the win: Matt Wagner scored twice, and Zac Ivy, Matt Zoldano and Kyle Gillam each scored once.

Eastern completed all but three of their 25 clears, and took advantage of their single man-up opportunity with a goal in the fourth quarter by Grant Ferguson. DeSales went 1-for-6 on man-up opportunities.

DeSales doubled up Eastern in the face-off category 14 to seven, but Eastern controlled the ground balls 28 to 21.

The matchup was the first official Freedom Conference men's lacrosse game, prior to this season, all lacrosse games were played under the umbrella of the MAC.

Eastern improves to 7-4 while DeSales dropped to 6-5. Eastern plays at King's College on Wednesday at 7 pm.
