Box Score

FREDERICK, Md.--A slow start coupled with 28 turnovers committed put Eastern Men's Basketball in too deep of a hole to climb out of on Saturday night.

The Eagles rallied at the end of the first half but were unable to make a comeback, falling 70-49 at Hood College.

Eastern's Anthony Parenti scored a team-high 14 points. Teammates Malcolm Garrison and Tyler Stowers each added eight points.

The Eagles began the game down 13-0 before Stowers made two free throws to put Eastern on the board with 9:05 left in the first half. The free throws began an 11-0 run for the Eagles over the next minute and 22 seconds.

With 2:06 left in the first half, Hood's lead was back up to 11, but at halftime, the Eagles had cut the deficit to six.

In the second half, the Eagles did not score for the first 4:42 and trailed by double digits again.

Eastern out-rebounded Hood 35-30, but Hood out-scored Eastern in the lane 36-6. Hood scored 34 points off Eastern's 28 turnovers.

Eastern (1-3) faces its first Freedom Conference opponent on Wednesday, playing the Manhattanville College Valiants at home at 8 p.m.
