PHOENIXVILLE, Pa.- Eastern University Women's Basketball
picked up their third win of the young season with a 68-52 win at Valley
Forge Christian College. Bekah Roland led the way with 24 points.
The
Eagles led 34-21 at the intermission behind 58% shooting from the floor
and 12-13 foul shooting. Eastern made 86% from the line for the game.
The
host Patriots only shot 23 percent from the floor for the game, but
they made 17-21 from the foul line in the second half to keep the game
within reach.
First year forward Meghan Nowak made 5-7 shots fromt he floor and all five of her foul shots to finish with 16.
Amanda Compton scored 19 points on 13-14 free throws and three field goals to lead the Patriots.
"It
is a win going into the break," said Eastern Head Coach Nate Davis, "
We still have stuff to work on, but we have some good momentum going
into the conference schedule next week."
Eastern plays its Freedom Conference opener at Manhattanville College next Wednesday evening.
