The 10th ranked Eagles dropped their opening set of the tournament to the hosts before winning the next six sets in comfortable fashion.
In the 3-1 win over Salisbury, Courtney Reinhold led the Eagles with 12 kills and 14 digs. Rachel Wenger tallied ten kills and Kearby Benak added nine. Maria Horning dished out 43 assists and 14 digs as the Eagles won 24-26, 25-20, 25-15, 25-13.
The Eastern squad made quicker work of Gallaudet.
The Bison (5-5) were unable to get things rolling at any point as the
Eagles rode an efficient attack to a 25-11, 25-12, 25-12 victory.
Reinhold led the way with 17 kills, four aces, and a pair of blocks. Benak hit a season-best .500 with six kills, and Heather Kauffman tallied five kills and three blocks.
The Eagles have matches at ten and twelve tomorrow and
a mid-week home match in conference against King's College, but all
these seem to be building toward next Friday night's home match-up with 2nd ranked Juniata College.
Box scores from Salisbury will be available at a later date.
