The 23rd ranked DeSales University women's basketball team jumped to an early lead and never looked back on their way to an 86-47 win at Eastern. Bekah Roland recorded a game-high 15 points in the loss.
The Eagles struggled to 25% shooting in the first half as the Bulldogs grabbed a 51-21 advantage at the break. Kim Rarick led the visitors with 10 points and five assists in the opening twenty minutes of play.
The
Bulldogs pushed the pace of the game and used intense pressure defense
to force the Eagles out of their comfort zone throughout. Though they
were able to slow the tide, Eagles were unable to carve into the DeSales lead at any point in the second half. Rarick led DeSales with 14 points with 8-8 from the foul line. LeighAnn Burke and Elyse Kutsop
joined her in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively. The
Bulldogs enjoyed a 58-36 advantage on the boards as they held the
Eagles to 24% shooting for the game.
Hannah Tobin scored
14 points for Eastern. The Eagles return to action for their final home
game of the year on Wednesday night when they host Philadelphia
Biblical in a non-conference game.
