They fell just short as the host Devils pieced together a 9-3 run over the final four minutes of the game to full away to a 53-47 win. Bekah Roland led the Eagles with a game-high  20 points and nine rebounds.

Eastern held the host FDU to just six first half field goals, but the Devils held a 8-1 edge from the foul line in the first twenty minutes. The two teams went to the break tied at 21.

Lizzie Wilson scored six of her eight points in the opening moments on an assortment of driving baskets to help the Eagles to take a 15-9 lead with five minutes to play.  The Devils finished the half on a 12-6 run.

Neither team led by more than four points throughout the second half. Roland scored 14 points after the break as the Eagles played much of the second half with different rotations due to foul trouble.

For the game, the Eastern defense held the Devils to just 27% shooting, but the FDU hit 23-36 from the line to earn the win. The Eagles connected on only 32% from the field in the loss.

Emily Cerankowski led the Devils with 12 points. Eastern (5-10, 2-8) will host  Manhattanville College in a 1:00 pm game on Saturday.
