In a key non-league match for Eastern University Men's Lacrosse, the visiting Kean Cougars scored six third-quarter goals to emerge with an 11-7win.

The Eagles jumped to a 2-0 lead early on a pair of goals from Ben O'Donnell, but the Cougars tied the game at two before O'Donnell picked up his third of the day to start the second period. Nate Trunfio and Michael Hofmeister scored to give the Eagles a 5-2 advantage midway through the second period.

Kean closed the gap to 5-3 with four minutes left in the period on a goal from Chris DeCarlo. The Cougars exploded out of the break as Anthony Bertucci scored twice to lead the visitors to a 9-6 lead going into the final period.

Trunfio scored twice on the day and Matt Colello added a single goal. Eight different players scored goals for Kean. 

Zach Rivest had a busy day in the Eastern goal with 21 saves while Dave Nichols made 11 saves for the Cougars.

The Eagles return to action Tuesday afternoon when they host Marywood University.
