Up by five at the half, the Eagles increased their lead to 13 but the hot shooting of Immaculata's Nina Cammarano helped the visitors to chip away at the Eastern advantage down the stretch. Eastern again went cold from the field down the stretch in the second half, but they were still able to score points from the foul line. The Eagles, led by Hannah Tobin who hit 10-12 and Kuiken's 9-11 effort connected on 17 of 19 foul shots in the second half and 29-37 for the game.
In the final moments of play, the Mighty Macs carved into the Eastern lead, but they still trailed by a bucket with five ticks left on the clock and the ball under the basket. A foul on the inbounds play put an Immaculata player on the foul line for a one and one opportunity with one second left on the clock. The first foul shot caromed off, but Immaculata's Deanna Tropea snared one of her 13 rebounds on the game and flipped in the lay up as time expired to send the game to extra time.
Cammarano scored six of her game-high 30 points in the overtime as the Mighty Macs held off a late flurry of three point attempts from the Eagles to secure the 77-74 victory.
