Volleyball Downs King's at Home

Eastern University Volleyball completed an unbeaten run through their regular season conference schedule with a 3-0 win over King's College. The 24th ranked Eagles finished the conference schedule at 8-0 without dropping a set. The Eagles honored senior Mandy Platt prior to the match.

The only senior on Eastern's squad will play again at home as the Eagles secured home court for the Freedom Conference Playoffs. The standout middle twice earned All-Conference recognition and was named MVP of the PAC Championship game as a sophomore. The senior leader finished the day with seven kills and five digs.

Eastern's freshmen stepped up to make sure that the Platt's regular season home finale ended well. Maria Horning ran the attack. The Eastern hitters put balls down at a .345 clip. Horning finished the day with 36 assists.

Courtney Reinhold led all hitters with a season-best 18 kills on just 22 swings. The reigning Freedom Conference Player of the Week also registered an ace and three blocks to earn 21.5 points. Nicole Burns joined Platt with seven kills, and Kara Hildebrand finished six balls.

The 27-1 Eagles will finish their regular season with four matches at the Elizabethtown Tournament on Friday and Saturday. They will open playoff action against a to-be-determined opponent next Wednesday.
