at Neumann College this afternoon. The Eagles got five goals from Ben
O'Donnell and four
Pat Dempsey as they jumped to a 3-0 first quarter
lead and never looked back on the way to a 1-0 PAC record.
O'Donnell was clearly the man of the match for the first period as he
scored in the fourth minute, the sixth minute and the 11th minute to
lift the Eagles to a three goal advantage at the first break. Kyle
Dresser, who finished the day with three assists picked up helpers on
the first and third goals of the game.
The Eagles jumped out of the gates in the second quarter when Michael
Ryan found Dempsey for his first goal of the game less than three
minutes into the second quarter.
Aaron Mushrush scored his first of the
game with just over six minutes remaining in the half. Thirty seconds
later O'Donnell buried his fourth of the game on a Ryan feed to make it
6-0. Dempsey collected his second of the game at the twelve minute
mark, adn
Nick Mandia closed out the scoring with an unassisted tally
in the last minute.
O'Donnell and Mandia tallied goals to start the second half to give the
Eagles their first ten goal advantage before Neumann scored on a Devin
Mosser strike. Dempsey then picked up his third and fourth goals of the
game before Mushrush ended the Eagles scoring in the closing seconds of
the third period. The Knights scored twice in the fourth, but the
Eagles kept things comfortable with solid defense and ball movement.
Coach Levis said of the game, "It was good to see our guys come out and
take a game from wire to wire. Pat [Dempsey] was outstanding in all
facets of the game today, and obviously Ben[O'Donnell] had a great day
as well. It was nice to see all of our guys have a chance to play in a
win. We have stuff to work on, but this is a good start to our PAC
season."
