As the program's first full-time coach, Julie Berardi has built Eastern Cheer and Dance. She drew on her vast and impressive experience as a teacher, leader, and choreographer as she started both programs.
She arrived Eastern after serving as head coach and lead choreographer for the Penn State Lionettes. That dance group had great success in competition and was an integral part of a spirit squad that performed in front of over 100,000 live fans at Penn State Football games. She choreographed routines for three national championships.
Beyond her work at Penn State, Berardi established Synergy Dance LLC which provided artistic direction and choreography to competitive collegiate, high school, and studio dance programs across the United States.
Berardi is a classically trained dancer, and she brings that level of commitment and precision to her teams. She aims to give her student-athletes an outstanding experience that will prepare them for success in and beyond college.
