Molly Gillikin

    Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Molly Gillikin joined Eastern University Athletics as a member of the strength and conditioning staff in the Summer of 2026 after gaining experience across multiple NCAA Division I athletics departments.

Gillikin most recently served as a Graduate Assistant Sport Performance Coach at Youngstown State University. There, she designed and led training sessions for volleyball, women’s lacrosse, tennis, and cross country. That role included monitoring team loading, athlete readiness, in-season periodization, performance testing, and collaboration with sports medicine staff on athlete modifications and rehabilitation needs.

Before her time at Youngstown State, Gillikin gained experience with Bellarmine University field hockey and multiple University of Louisville programs, including the #15 ranked women’s basketball program. At Louisville, she assisted with performance session execution, GPS data reporting, athlete monitoring, nutrition support, and sport science data analysis where she used multiple platforms including Catapult, Excel, Power BI, Smartabase, DARI, Hawkin, and Perch.

Gillikin earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance with an Exercise Science track from the University of Louisville in 2024 and is pursuing a Master of Health and Human Services from Youngstown State University. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and also holds USA Weightlifting Level I, First Aid/CPR/AED, Mental Health First Aid, and SafeSport certifications.

A former Division I rower at Louisville, Gillikin also contributed to published research on injury prevention trends in NCAA women’s soccer.
