Marcus Myers

Marcus Myers will lead Eastern Drumline.

He found his love and passion for music in a small church located in Philadelphia. At a young age, it was apparent that music would play a significant part in his life. From that point, he found himself in every musical activity available to him from adolescence to the collegiate level. He attended the University Of The Arts for his undergrad. This is where his classical and gospel training fused with Jazz and shaped his musical character today.

Not only is Marcus versatile in his musical style and approaches, but his versatility also landed him touring with international music groups quickly after college. From performing with powerhouses such as Laurin Talise, Jeff Bradshaw, Don Glanden, and Chris Farr, To even world- renown bassist Gerald Veasley and hometown hero, Randy Brecker. Marcus finds himself in many different musical situations with the ability to speak that musical language authentically. Whether its Americana rock or Hip hop, Marcus consistently finds himself in unique situations that grow his musical ability.

Aside from performing music, Marcus is also an educator. He has spent eight years teaching at his alma mater. He has worked and participated in drumline and marching band for many years. His latest involvement was with Musicopia. He was the Artistic Director for their Drumline’s in the Philadelphia School District.

Marcus is dedicated to inspiring creatives and will continue to push musical boundaries while creating art that changes all who encounter it.
