OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Eastern Women's Cross Country returned to action Friday afternoon at the MAC Preview Cross Country Meet at Stevenson University. The Eagles put together another strong finish in its second meet of the season, placing third overall and second against MAC opponents with a score of 80. Sophomore Ashley Bitler recorded her second straight top-10 finish, placing fifth to lead the Eagles, while two other Eagles ran personal bests. 

Bitler continued her strong start to her sophomore season, crossing the finish line in 24:17.8 in the Eagles' first 6k race of the season. Tierra Hill followed with a personal best 25:35.0, her best finish since her freshman year.  Helena Stoffel also ran a personal best. She crossed the finish line in 27:43 and shaved five minutes off her previous best time.

Ashley Medina finished third for the Eagles at 26:54.0, Talia Fogel crossed the finish line in 27:20.5, and Gisella Crogged recorded a time of 27:28.7.

"Overall I'm pleased with the performance at MAC previews," Eastern Head Coach Samantha David said. "Finishing third on both sides showed us more of what we know our squads are capable of, and we're excited to keep surging forward this season. We'll keep working over these next few weeks and will be ready for Paul Short on October 2nd."

The Eagles will race again at Lehigh for the Paul Short Run in two weeks.
