ST. DAVIDS, Pa. — Eastern Athletic Director Brian Bingaman has announced that Samantha David has been hired to lead Eastern Cross Country and to serve as a top assistant with Eastern Track and Field. David comes to Eastern from the University of Valley Forge where she served in the same role. 

While at Valley Forge, David oversaw growth and improvement in a young Cross Country program and a first-year Track and Field program. At Eastern she will look to build a distance group to compete with the top teams in the Middle Atlantic Conference and to support Eastern Track and Field as that program climbs through the league standings. 

Throughout the interview process, David impressed with her commitment to coaching the whole athlete and a focus on building a unified team culture. She was a member of the 56th NCAA Women Coaches Academy in Denver. She looks forward to combining the knowledge gained from her experience with the insights she picked up from other great coaches as she leads the Eastern program. 

Eastern Cross OCuntry will open the 2026 season at LVC on Sept. 5.
